BBC One's 'Marriage'
My first production credit, working on Stefan Golaszewski's 'Marriage', starring Sean Bean and Nicola Walker on BBC One.
The story behind my first formal foray into the world of production was perhaps as dramatic as the plot of the show itself. I’d just left university and needed a flexible job which allowed me to commute between home and university (Watford and Warwick), to attend rehearsals in the evenings with the Small Fish crew. Alongside my toilet scrubbing, surface wiping, and floor sweeping duties, I helped members of the production crew handle administrative issues as they arose, quickly becoming one of the whole crew’s go-to problem solvers.
Though very challenging, my extra work was eventually rewarded with a bespoke role once filming began, as the production’s Swiss Army Knife, where I rotated through teams as needs arose, which lent itself well to my penchant for dynamic and fast-paced working environments. Throughout streaming I actively pitched in with most of the production’s departments, spending the bulk of my time with the Costume, Camera and Grip departments, stepping up to lead departments on occasion.
